Too much sliding between the notes towards the mid-end, in my opinion. Made you go off-pitch quite a bit. I understand how you might be trying to add a bit of your own flavor to it, but the...I guess "emotional" voice kinda-sorta makes it seem like a try-hard effort. I'm not a fan of it. It also seems like this had more voice emphasis way more than guitar. Not sure if there was someone playing it behind/to the side of you, but I would give it a bit more presence. Overall, I like the song, though! This is just my opinion, it may or may not matter to you, it doesn't have to.

Trueloverofdarkness responds:

Shitty microphone sorry haha. We recorded on Audacity. I am able to turn up the sound of the guitar?

Very very nice. Noticed some clipping though. Then again, this is a demo...

DjEagle responds:

Thanks man! Where do you notice the clipping?

Vocals could be amped up a bit imo. Sounds like this wasn't properly mastered, kinda sounds cluttered and the drums have almost no air to breath (stereo wise). Then again...this is a demo. Liked the lyrics though.

Sawdust responds:

Thanks for the criticism, this is definitely just a demo.

Got the beat down, but the wubwub could use a bit of character.

RawGreen responds:

Hmm... I see... Thanks man,
I didn't think of that!

*Big sigh*

Nice and mellow, I enjoy these types of songs every now and then. I think it would fit into the Minimal genre. The drums were nice and changed everywhere, in a good way. Reminds me of the instrumentals that Underoath had on each album. It's nice to let your mind wander with this genre.

AJUST responds:

Thanks for that, I always try to Experiment with my music. Unfortunately the music I'm good at, is the music I don't like, and everybody else loves. It's a battle between what I like, and they want...

I'm guessing you will re-upload

Volume is really low...

HarvestThrone responds:

Damnit. Yeah I'll try and fix it. Thanks!

Sounds very familiar. Reminds me of Ludovico Einaudi. The transition at 0:57 was really nice. However, I could kind of guess what was coming next. Overall very nice.

Watsons responds:

I will try my best to be less predictable and include more surprises in future!

Lower some of the reverb on that kick and let the other sounds breathe a bit. Overall, great potential. As Grimmace666 said, there's no precussion...unless that's what you're aiming for.

Ayeso responds:

thanks imma go back and redue it

It's almost like you're in my head. I like how the cymbal pans from one side to the other. Really captures that feeling of insomnia. I've had it all last year, but now I'm free of it...and things are a lot better, although I will miss the sunrise with that weird feeling you get during the twilight. Rambling on...

Anyway, great song...moving on to Night B.

LLAAPPSSEE responds:

I know what you mean. I love that twilight head-space. The sunrise was always nice. I always sort of dreaded it though.

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I was just doing my own thing, your song in the backround...I didn't know it had been playing for 20 mins, I thought it was a really long song. Turns out it's only 2 mins. It has a nice vibe and everything, really calming. I can relate to the feeling of "recovery" in this song too.

Shoephly responds:

Hehe, 'twas my intention. When I make the names of my songs, I don't take my time, I name them with the first thing I had in mind making the song, and I did in fact feel this song portrays well how it's like to overcome hardships, if you know what I mean? xD

Thank you for this review, certainly so shortly after I posted it. :D
